What we do

Three ways we show up for our neighbors

Simple, direct help, carried by volunteers’ hands straight to the people who need it.

Meals & Sandwiches

Providing nutritious meals and sandwiches to those in need, prepared with care and handed over with kindness.

Bread & Food

Distributing bread, groceries, and food items to help nourish our community, one household at a time.

Hope & Support

Offering kindness, encouragement, and support to uplift lives, because a warm word matters as much as a warm meal.

And a fourth, close to our hearts

Senior Center Support

We bring food, friendship, and encouragement to older neighbors at Stockton senior centers.

How it works

A distribution day, from your gift to a neighbor’s hands

Every donation follows the same short, honest path.

Gather

Donations become groceries: bread, sandwich fixings, fruit, water, and everyday essentials.

2

Prepare

Volunteers assemble fresh meals and sandwich bags with care, ready to travel.

Go out

We bring food directly to unhoused neighbors and to senior centers across Stockton.

Uplift

A meal, a conversation, encouragement, and a friendly point of contact for more support.

“Every act of generosity helps us continue our mission of feeding the hungry and bringing hope to our community.”

Every donation helps us continue our mission.

Thank you.

To every hand that has joined ours

To our donors, volunteers, and friends: every sandwich handed through a car window, every loaf of bread shared, every food delivery to a senior center happens because someone like you decided our neighbors were worth it.

Some of you give money. Some give bread. Some give a Saturday morning. Some simply share our posts so the right person finds a meal. It all matters, and none of it is forgotten.

Together, we can build a stronger, kinder community.

Our story

Founded on a simple belief: no neighbor stands alone

Hands of Unity Incorporated was founded in 2026 by Mary Kay Williams and Maceo Williams, who saw hunger on Stockton’s streets and decided the answer started with their own two hands, and everyone else’s they could gather.

The name is the mission: many hands, different colors, joined around one heart. What began with sandwiches and loaves of bread is growing into steady food distribution, senior center food deliveries, and a widening circle of volunteers and partners.

  • California nonprofit public benefit corporation, organized under IRS section 501(c)(3)
